MSc Thesis Opportunity: mmWave Hybrid Beamforming Base-Station System Design
Master thesis scope
Beyond 5G systems will require large high-performance active antenna units (AAU) operating in the FR2 mmWave bands. Large phased array antennas can form narrow beams to optimize the performance of the system, however, these same narrow beams can become problem for users that want to connect to the network quickly with low latency.
We are looking for a student to our office in Gothenburg who can help us research techniques to increase capacity and reduce latency using our in-house system simulator. Within this project you will learn about hybrid beam forming antennas, 3GPP radio interfaces, beam forming techniques and base station system modelling. Start date is as soon as possible during 2023.
