telecommunications and network solutions, with innovation at the core of
everything we do. Huawei established its first overseas R&D office in
Sweden in 2000, and since then, we’ve expanded rapidly. Today, over 400 R&D
engineers are pushing boundaries in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Lund, working on
groundbreaking 6G wireless systems that shape tomorrow’s technology.
Join us on our journey to develop the future of tech and be a part of a team that thrives on innovation, works hard to solve the industry’s biggest challenges, and collaborates with top engineers worldwide. If you’re ready to contribute to world-changing advancements, we want you on board!
Thesis Description
Department: Wireless Terminal Lab
For whom? 1 or 2 students in the second-year of master study, 30hp each
Modern Embedded System Design involves integrating a large number of IP components and establishing intricate connections between them. In addition to this, engineers must configure both component-level and design-level parameters. Moreover, as systems continue to grow in complexity and scale, they often comprise hundreds of component instances and thousands of interconnections.
Given this complexity, the process of creating a system design is both labor-intensive and error-prone, demanding continuous innovation to streamline workflows for system design engineers. While numerous commercial and in-house tools exist within the electronic design industry, there remains a significant opportunity to enhance usability and efficiency—particularly through the integration of natural language interfaces.
You will: Build a system that enables engineers to create designs using our in-house system design tool through natural language prompts. This includes:
- Researching and selecting the suitable large language model (LLM), agent architecture, and supporting technologies to interpret and act on user input.
- Defining and implementing the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to connect with and control our internal design tool.
- Ensuring integration between the natural language interface and the in-house tool.
Timeline
We are offering both Master Thesis projects and internships. Opportunities are available starting now, with availability from spring 2026 also possible.
Your Profile
- Master students with excellent scores and studying in the last-year of study-cycle
- Good knowledge in NLP, LLM and agents and other AI technologies
- Programming skills in RESTful API, servers-side programming is a plus
- Languages like Python, C#, Go
Are you ready to apply your skills in a real-world setting and help us lead the charge in tech innovation? Join Huawei Sweden R&D, and let’s make tech history together!
